Consultants

Our safety and industrial hygienists are trained, qualified and have the knowledge and experience needed to provide safety and health assistance to Mississippi industries. All our consultants have college degrees in a field related to safety and health and have received extensive training in both safety and health at the OSHA Training Institute in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Our consultants are:

  • Competent professionals who have been carefully selected and have years of experience and training;
  • Very familiar with the hazards facing industries such as sawmills, furniture plants, metal fabricators, foundries, general manufacturing, and medical facilities like doctor and dentist offices, and nursing homes;
  • Experienced with occupational health problems resulting from noise and atmospheric pollution, toxic substances, carcinogens, and other environmental hazards;
  • Willing and able to help employers eliminate hazards that could result in federal regulatory penalties, loss in employee work days, and workers compensation costs.

Industrial Hygiene Consultants

John S. (Stan) Williams
Program Manager

Stan Williams earned both a BS degree (1998) in Industrial Technology and a MS degree (1995) in Business Administration from Mississippi State University. His work background includes being a safety and compliance manager, serving as a faculty member at MSU, Meridian campus, and 22 years of full-time service with the MS Air National Guard where he retired as a Major. Stan became a safety consultant with MSU in August 2006 and is a safety field consultant who conducts site surveys at various manufacturing, construction, and health related facilities.

Steven C. Holman, CSP
Industrial Hygienist

Steven Holman earned a BS degree (1993) in Chemistry from Belhaven College and a MS degree (1999) in Chemistry from Mississippi State University. He is also a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Prior to becoming a consultant with MSU, Steve worked in MSU’s Chemistry Department for over 15 years and has a wide array of experience that includes: managing hazardous waste, developing safety and health programs, developing and teaching online chemistry courses, overseeing organic and freshmen teaching labs, dispensing bulk solvents, and creating an online chemical inventory. He also served as a co-instructor for the Laboratory Safety Institute, specializing in laboratory safety for academic institutions. In addition to his professional career, Steven is a Certified Firefighter and NREMT. Steven began working as an Industrial Hygienist as a consultant in March 2013 and is engaged in site surveys at various types of manufacturing and health related facilities.

Carl F. McNeil
Industrial Hygienist

Carl McNeil earned a BS degree (1989) in Health and Human Services from the University of Southern Mississippi. He served as a full-time non-commissioned officer with the MS Air National Guard where he retired as a Master Sergeant with over 26 years of service and experience in emergency operations, fire prevention, hazardous materials and compliance. Carl became an Industrial Hygienist with MSU in August 2011 and is engaged in site surveys at various types of manufacturing and health related facilities.

Victoria C. Bailey
Safety Consultant

Victoria Bailey holds a BS degree (2001) and a MS degree (2001) from the Mississippi University for Woman. She has been a safety inspector for a national construction company and served as an environmental coordinator and instructor at MSU, main campus. Victoria has been a safety consultant with MSU since August 2011 and is engaged in site surveys at various types of manufacturing, construction, and health related facilities.
