  • 6 Months
  • 100 Course Hours
  • $1,345

Overview

Projects are temporary endeavors and can be simple or complex. While simple ones can be managed with a little bit of planning and common sense, complex projects need a more formal approach. Gain a strong knowledge of project management foundations in this program. You will learn the key elements of good planning such as estimating, establishing project boundaries (scope), and scheduling. You’ll also learn how to anticipate potential problems (risks) and ways to mitigate them.

This program is based on The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), which establishes the international standard regarding the project management discipline. This program also meets or exceeds the requirements for those interested in the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certification. Students who are interested in earning the CAPM credentials must schedule and pay for the exam on their own after program completion.

As your experience grows, so will your need for increased competencies. After this program, you can continue your professional development by moving onto the Mastering Project Management and/or Microsoft Project programs.

Project Management Institute (PMI) recently updated the PMBOK Guide® with changes to the Project Management Professional (PMP®) exam and CAPM® exam taking effect in 2018. This course currently references the PMBOK Guide – 6th Edition and the revised PMP and CAPM exams. We welcome you to enroll in this program as it reflects the changes to the PMP® and CAPM® exams.

You will learn how to do the following tasks as they relate to project management:

  • Understand the essential elements of a project management foundation
  • Be familiar with most common project management concepts and terminology
  • Follow concepts from The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)
  • Meet or exceed the educational per-requisites for the CAPM certification
