ASBESTOS ABATEMENT

ONLINE 2-Hour Asbestos Awareness Training
Learn the serious health hazards associated with asbestos
exposure in this online class. This class is perfect for anyone who
wants to know where asbestos is found and how to avoid exposure.
This course also meets the 2-hour asbestos awareness training
requirement for school custodial and maintenance workers.

AHERA/Designated Local Education Agency (LEA)
Learn how to protect students, educators, and staff from exposure
to asbestos. You will gain the knowledge and skills required to
become a Designated Local Education Agency (LEA).
Class fee: $275

Project Designer Refresher
Review key information from the project designer initial course, as
well as work practices, safety, abatement contract documents,
containment design principles, and any recent changes to
applicable asbestos regulations.
Class fee: $275 Recertification: Yearly

Asbestos Supervisor/Contractor Initial
Learn the skills you need to oversee and supervise asbestos
abatement workers in restricted and regulated asbestos
abatement work areas. Through extensive hands-on training and
real-world examples, you will gain the knowledge needed to ensure
the safety of your workers and stay in compliance with OSHA and
EPA regulations.

Asbestos Supervisor/Contract Refresher
This 1-day (8-hour) course recertifies you to supervise and direct asbestos
workers performing abatement activities.
Class fee: $275 Recertification: Yearly

Asbestos Worker Initial
This 4-day (32-hour) course will teach you the skills you need to
remove, encapsulate, enclose, repair, or disturb friable or nonfriable
asbestos. Through extensive hands-on training and realworld
examples, you will gain the knowledge needed to protect
yourself while handling asbestos materials on an asbestos
abatement project.
Class fee: $720 Recertification: Yearly

Asbestos Worker Refresher 
This 1-day (8-hour) refresher course provides information regarding
changes in state and federal regulation and reviews key aspects of
original training: work practices, potential health effects of asbestos
exposure, personal protective equipment, and safety hazards.
Class fee: $275 Recertification: Yearly

Asbestos Inspection and Assessment Initial
Become certified to assess the condition of asbestos material and
report the results in this 3-day (24-hour) course. Any person who
performs the tasks involved in surveying, identifying, and assessing
the condition of asbestos and asbestos material needs this training.
Through extensive hands-on training and real-world examples, you
will gain the knowledge you need to collect samples of asbestos
material for laboratory analysis, and record and report the results.
Class fee: $620 Recertification: Yearly

Asbestos Inspection and Assessment Refresher
This halfday (4-hour) course recertifies you to survey, identify, and assess
the condition of asbestos and asbestos-containing material. It also
teaches you how to collect bulk samples of asbestos material or
suspected asbestos material for laboratory analysis.
Class fee: $200 Recertification: Yearly

Management Planner Initial
Become certified to assess asbestos hazards and recommend
appropriate response actions. This 2-day (16-hour) course is
designed for those responsible for facility mitigation activities,
including management of data associated with asbestos work,
response action planning, scheduling, and administration.
Prerequisites: Inspection and Assessment Certification
Class fee: $520 Recertification: Yearly

Management Planner Refresher
Do not let your asbestos management planner license expire! You
will review subjects covered in the management planner initial
course and any changes to regulations, interpretations, and building
inspections.

LEAD ABATEMENT

Lead Renovator, Repair, & Painting Initial
As of April 2010, anyone who performs renovations, repair, or
painting in pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities must be
EPA Lead-Safe Certified. Individuals and firms that are not certified
could face fines of up to $30,000 a day! In this 1-day (8-hour) class,
you’ll receive hands-on training and real-world examples from
experienced instructors to ensure you gain the skills and knowledge
you need to become certified.
Class fee: $320 Recertification: Every 3 Years

Lead Renovator, Repair, & Painting Refresher
Certified lead paint renovators are required to take this half-day (4-
hour) refresher course every 3 years to renew their certification.
Class fee: $200 Recertification: Every 3 Years

Lead Inspector Initial
Learn how to determine whether or not lead-based paint or other
lead hazards are present in sufficient quantities to require
abatement according to regulatory guidelines in this 3-day (24-
hour) course. Also develop an understanding of the advantages and
limitations of a variety of lead paint inspection techniques, along
with methods of implementation.
Class fee: $620 Recertification: Every 3 Years

Lead Inspector Refresher
This 1-day (8-hour)
course will teach you the legal obligations facing inspectors when
inspecting for lead hazards, in addition to showing you how to
determine whether or not lead-based paint or other hazards are
present in sufficient quantities to require abatement according to
regulatory guidelines.
Class fee: $275 Recertification: Every 3 Years

Lead Risk Assessor Initial
If you are interested in performing lead-based paint risk
assessment or lead hazard screening services, this 2-day (16-hour)
class will give you the skills you need. You will learn how to perform
on-site lead inspections, take samples, determine the severity of
lead hazards, and develop options for eliminating those hazards.
You’ll receive hands-on training and hear about real-world
examples from experienced instructors that will prepare you to
apply your knowledge to the field.
Prerequisite: Lead Inspector Certification
Class fee: $520 Recertification: Every 3 Years

Lead Risk Assessor Refresher
This 1-day (8-hour) course meets EPA’s recertification training requirements for
those who perform lead-based risk assessment or lead hazard
screening services.
Class fee: $275 Recertification: Every 3 Years

 

OSHA

OSHA 10Hr General Industry
This two-day (10 hour) course is intended to provide entry level
construction workers information regarding employee rights,
employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as
how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a
construction site. This course is taught by an OSHA-authorized
instructor and participants who successfully complete the course
will receive a card from OSHA certifying completion of the course.
Class fee: $79

OSHA 30Hr General Industry
This four-day (30 hour) course is intended for supervisors or
workers with some safety responsibility. This course
provides an in-depth examination of workplace safety
issues. This course is taught by an OSHA-authorized
instructor and participants who successfully complete the
course will receive a card from OSHA certifying completion
of the course.

 

CPR

CPR/AED Training
After participating in this half-day (4-hour) training, you will be
certified to administer CPR and use an AED. The Health & Safety
Institute is a CPR/AED training program designed specifically for
the occupational provider. This extremely flexible program will
help teach you the skills you need to respond to and care for
medical emergencies.
Class fee: $35 Recertification: Every 2 Years

CPR/AED/First Aid Training
After participating in this 1-day (8-hour) training, you will be
certified to administer CPR and Basic First Aid as well as use an
AED. The Health & Safety Institute is a First Aid training program
designed specifically for the occupational provider. This extremely
flexible program will help teach you the skills you need to respond
to and care for medical emergencies.
